As a Respiratory Therapist at Solon Pointe, you will play a critical role in the assessment, treatment, and management of residents with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, including evaluation of lung sounds, oxygenation status, and overall cardiopulmonary condition

• Initiate, manage, and monitor oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and bronchial hygiene therapies in accordance with physician orders

• Set up, operate, and manage mechanical ventilation systems, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)

• Monitor ventilator settings and patient response, communicating changes and concerns to physicians and nursing staff as needed

• Perform airway management, including suctioning, tracheostomy care, and support for artificial airways

• Conduct pulse oximetry and assist with arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and response when applicable

• Respond promptly to changes in resident condition and initiate appropriate respiratory interventions

• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings to support quality resident outcomes

• Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory treatments, conditions, and equipment use

• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of respiratory equipment in accordance with infection control standards

• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards

• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and compliance guidelines


JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care preferred, but not required


CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
