SUMMARY

Tri‐C has an immediate opening for a Program Director, Respiratory Care to oversee and manage the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the Respiratory Care Program.

This position is full‐time, exempt hourly and benefits‐eligible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include:

  • Maintaining program accreditation and responding to accreditation requests
  • Providing leadership by assuring accreditation standards are met
  • Serving as a liaison between the college and health care facilities
  • Overseeing didactic and clinical instructional process including student evaluations and schedules
  • Counseling and advising students
  • Coordinating development of curriculum and revisions
  • Preparing course schedules, orders textbooks and makes instructional assignments
  • Performing didactic instruction and evaluating program courses
  • Marketing programs and recruiting students

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency
  • Current valid RRT credential and current license in Ohio
  • Minimum of six years of related Registered Respiratory Therapist experience including:
    • Minimum of two years in clinical respiratory care
    • Minimum of two years of recent experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others
  • Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
  • Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing and monitoring a business area’s budget
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in a related field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency
  • Demonstrated experience with program accreditation
  • Demonstrated instructional experience with skills in curriculum design, instructional methods, evaluation, and assessment
